Beginners Whittling - Mushroom Ornament

The workshop will take place within a beautiful woodland, from which we will source and cut the wood for our mushrooms. Over the course of the session you will learn how to safely cut, split and shape the wood using loppers, billhooks and sheath knives.  All tools will be provided and the group size will be small to allow individual attention.  You will be carefully guided through each stage of the process ending up with your own wonderful creation.  The process will as important than the product as we immerse ourselves in the meditative process of whittling wood.  

The campfire will be lit and the kettle will be on for refreshments whenever the need arises including home baked cake.

Please note that during the session you will have time to complete one and perhaps a second mushroom, but more importantly you will learn the skills to make many more.
