About the event
Weave a beautiful little foraging basket from everyday, foraged materials which may differ over the course of the year from yukka leaves to honeysuckle, bramble and even the dreaded bindweed! The aim is to empower you to take an everyday material and turn it into something beautiful and functional. You will be taught simple weaving methods, using tools which can be found in your kitchen drawer and failing that how to make your own. Just like your ancestors, you will learn to make use of what is around you and create something satisfyingly useful and beautiful. We won't necessarily be searching for perfection but rather to immerse ourselves in the learning process within beautiful surroundings amongst like-minded people. We hope for this experience to be both relaxing and empowering. You will learn that if the mood takes you, you can wander, within a short distance, collect and weave something lovely on the spur of the moment. Even teach your family too. Suitable for beginners and those who may have done a little bit of weaving before. All materials and tools will be provided for the course. Refreshments will be provided too, including a lunch comprising of a hearty soup (vegan diet) and crusty bread (please advise if you require gf option)
